Overview
Stay at the headquarters of Soto Zen, one of Japan's largest Buddhist sects. Founded by Dogen Zenji in 1244. Guests participate in morning zazen (seated meditation), sutra chanting, and temple maintenance. Vegetarian meals (shojin ryori) served three times daily. Silence is observed throughout most of the day.

- 5:00 AM — Wake up bell

- 1:00 PM — Free time / walking meditation
